Cooling centers are opening in Hampshire and Franklin counties as temperatures climb. Easthampton’s Public Safety Complex on Payson Avenue will be open around the clock Wednesday through Sunday. In Montague, Town Hall will be open Wednesday until 6:30, while the Gill-Montague Senior Center will welcome residents Wednesday through Friday from nine to two. Officials are urging people to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity and check on vulnerable neighbors.
